很多听众是从《The Reason》开始认识Hoobastank的，殊不知这已经是他们的第二张专辑了。
刚开头的电音吉他与富余节奏感的鼓点以及主唱的声线像极了英国乐队的brit-pop风格，但后来看了介绍，颇令我意外。hoobastank是一支成立于美国洛杉矶附近的Agoura Hill郊区的乐队。当时Douglas Robb与Dan Estrin分别效力于两支不同的乐队，一场比赛把他们紧密地联系在一起，可谓不打不相识，从此两人惺惺相吸尝试合作，随后索性离开原来的乐队另起炉灶。贝斯手Markku Lappalainen与鼓手Chris Hesse加入后，急速催化了他們闯荡乐坛的伟大构想，从此意味着Hoobastank正式上路。

漫天的风雪讲述着冬夜的浪漫，喧嚣的世界再次陷入沉寂，Hoobastank的音乐让人彻底地失眠，恍惚中竟然有些手足无措。我知道贪婪的灵魂已被那些旋律收买了，此刻所有的冲动都显得如此不合时宜。《The Reason》这张专辑已被我重复播放了若干遍，虽然里面并没有隐藏什么特殊的玄机，但是简单、悦耳的节奏却使人感觉很舒服。其实那几个家伙再简单不过了，他们没有任何时髦的噱头，甚至连花边新闻也少得可怜，当然这些琐屑与我毫不相干，我在乎的仅仅是他们的音乐。
