Had Use Your Illusion II been combined with Use Your Illusion I, keeping only the best material while dropping the filler, it would have been one of the best rock albums ever recorded. Instead, great songs like "Civil War," "14 Years," "Estranged," and "So Fine" compete with the inexcusable "Get in the Ring" and the well-intentioned but off-target cover of "Knockin\' on Heaven\'s Door." There\'s no point to the second version of "Don\'t Cry," either. On the other hand, when Guns N\' Roses were good, they were very, very good, and some of the material on this album is unsurpassable 1. civil war- once again a great opening song it is hard rock and it delivers a great sound. many people like this one. 10/10 2. 14 years- a nice blusey type of song. axl does the nice vocals for this one. little obove average. good song. 8/10 3. yesterdays- a happy GNR tune but still a good song. the lyrics are pretty good and this song is all axl; he does the vocals great. 8/10 4. knockin on heavens door- this was a huge hit and i see why. it has a great beat which slash\'s guitar gives you, and it is certainly a classic. one of my favorites on the album. great song. 10/10 5. get inthe ring- doesn\'t make sence to me. it really isn\'t a song. it is kinda just talking. 4/10 6. shotgun blues- a really cool song. it is all up beat but hard rock and overcorse like it says in the name bluesy. 7.5/10 7. breakdown- not bad but not the usual. average song what more can i say. 6.5/10 8. pretty tied up- i love this song. i think it is different and very enjoyable. it has a catchy beat that i like. 8.5/10 9. locomotive- another really cool song. hrad blusey beat with electrifying slash guitar. great song. one of my favorites on the album. awesome! 9.5/10 10. so fine- i really don\'t like this song at all. duff should stick to the bass, not singing. the lyrics aren\'t to good either. just one of those disappointments. 4/10 11. estranged- insane!!!! one of the best GNR songs of all time. very long, great beat, axl at his best! this is truly a very artistic song. it starts out quiet, and then gets better and better as it goes along. this song lets you see how talented GNR really is. if all the other songs on this album sucked, even though they don\'t i would buy it just for this song. it should be on greatest hits! 100/10 12. you could be mine- an awesome hard rock song that you can listen to over N\' over. this is just an excellent song that sounds like it would be on appitite for destruction. 10/10 13. don\'t cry- a slow melodious song but very good. it doesn\'t pick up the pase like some of their other slow songs but it is still a good song that most people love. now this is no better or worse then the don\'t cry on use your illusion one because it is exactly the same but just different lyrics. 8/10 14. my world- i\'m sorry to say terrible closing song. i don\'t consider it a song. it is nothing like GNR it is just like yelling with now music in the back for like a minuit. i ddon\'t understand it. oh well the rest of the album is great.
