当年乐队一举成名之后，他竟然放下Stardom、重返Harvard的大学校园；然后为乐队带来了一张并不容易消化的后继专辑作为第二击；甚至继而更玩失踪，在洛杉矶的大厦住所内过着不见天日的自闭式稳居生活(连电话线也拔掉那种)。弄至Weezer在乐坛上的发展也断断续续起来。

跟在1994年平地一声雷而来的首张同名专辑Weezer(又名The Blue Album)与Buddy Holly等等大热单曲相隔七载，兜兜转转过后，Weezer才在2001年凭着第三同名专辑Weezer(又名The Green Album)再创其事业高峰。

纵使Weezer自踏入廿一世纪后已见回勇状态，但现年三十四岁的Rivers仍作风不改。乐队交由Rick Rubin监制的第五张专辑Make Believe其实在去年夏季尾已灌录完毕，但由于Rivers要回到大学完成秋季学期，所以唱片要延至这个5月才面世。而热衷冥想与静修的他，早前他说宁可错过登上Rolling Stone封面的专访与摄影的档期，也坚持他飞往加州Yosemite的静修之行。

Rivers就是那么不问世故的家伙。
